Without lanes is still better than having bicycle lanes to facilitate faster flow of cars by introducing inconveniences to cyclists.

Already, last year there was this new "trial" to "allowed" folding bicycles to be brought up on buses and MRT trains (Metro) [as though it wasn't allowed previously] BUT the purpose is actually to specify when and what types of bikes CAN'T be brought up on to buses and trains!Back2Naturehttp://back2nature.blogspot.com/search/label/bicyclenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999911.post-65230327920987594382010-01-25T16:22:38.967+08:002010-01-25T16:22:38.967+08:00Over here in the Netherlands where we have Shared ...Over here in the Netherlands where we have Shared Space, it really isn't all that popular with cyclists. Compared with normal Dutch cycling provision, which gives cyclists better convenience than drivers, and makes cycling so safe that 93% of the population cycle at least once a week, Shared Space is a step backwards. It marks a return of "might is right" to Dutch roads. I avoid the shared space areas on my commuting route.

Shared Space is the one Dutch innovation in transport which you don't want to copy.David Hembrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14543024940730663645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7999911.post-75417779118760664572010-01-13T14:14:43.209+08:002010-01-13T14:14:43.209+08:00Experience shows that share space will work if th...Experience shows that share space will work if the speed limit of the area is under 25km/hr.
